Canton Fair 2026 Countdown: What to Prepare Before Meeting a Nail Factory

The 140th Canton Fair (Autumn 2026) opens on October 15 and runs to October 19 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China. That is just over two weeks away. If you import nails, fasteners or hardware, this is the busiest buying week of the autumn. Before you board the flight, here is the checklist we hand every buyer who plans to visit a nail factory booth, so you leave with a signed order instead of a bag of brochures.

Why Meet a Factory at the Fair at All

A trading company can sell you nails. A nail factory can tell you how the wire is drawn, what the zinc thickness actually is, and why a box of cheap nails jammed your nailer last year. Bring These Three Things to the Booth

1. A sample of the wood you nail. Pallet timber, crate plywood and roof decking all behave differently. Bring a small piece and we drive the nail into it on the spot, so you see the feed, the point and the hold before you order.

2. Your size list, even if it is rough. A list like "wire nails 2-4 inch, 2 tons" is enough to start. We quote length, gauge and finish from that in minutes, and if you stock multiple sizes we can talk a full-range order.

3. Your current problems. Nails jamming in the gun, rusting in the container, pulling out of pallets, splitting thin boards, all of these are solvable at the booth. Bring the problem, not just the order.

Any factory that answers all four clearly is worth a trial order. If you get vague answers, keep walking.

After the Fair, Move Fast

Fair week is when every nail buyer in Asia is in the same building. Do not lose the momentum.
